Slated for the ground floor of The Louisiana residential building currently under construction on the corner of Louisiana and University in San Diego's North Park neighborhood is Louisiana Purchase, a New Orleans inspired bar & restaurant from local industry professionals.
From the newly formed Grind & Prosper Hospitality group, which includes Pete Cich (Park 101, Miss B's Coconut Club, Pacific Beach Shore Club) as its founding member, Lousiana Purchase will take up part of the ground floor of designer Jeff Svitak's The Louisiana building of modern residential lofts. The delicately crafted bar and restaurant is being designed to evoke the unique flavor and culture of New Orleans and the vibrant Southern city's food and beverage scene. Expect a heavily wooded environment with an open-air flow and plenty of vines draped throughout the space.
"Landscape takes a prominent role as the lines between interior and exterior are fully blurred," details Louisiana Purchase architect Jeff Svitak Inc. "The seating flows throughout a variety of different scenic and semi-reclusive spaces while the bar sits in the back of the space as if hidden inside a jewel box. The kitchen is exposed to the public as an exhibition of culinary work space."
Louisiana Purchase will offer a stylish menu centered around reimagined versions of modern and classic New Orleans-style comfort foods - think jambalaya, muffuletta and po'boy sandwiches, gumbo, crawfish, fried chicken, barbecue shrimp, beignets and Creole influenced entrees and appetizers. From the bar, expect a lineup of boozy drinks ranging in style from the sophisticated Sazerac to the boozy Hurricane, as well as a bunch of taps devoted to craft beer and a curated wine list.
Louisiana Purchase is not anticipated to unveil until late 2018/early 2019. For more information on other Grind & Prosper Hospitality projects, visit grindandprosperhospitality.com.
