The East Village Association is stepping up to the plate once again to celebrate the return of San Diego Padres baseball at the 8th Annual East Village Opening Weekend Block Party, a free-to-attend neighborhood street fair taking place on Friday, March 30 & Saturday, March 31. We are raffling off drink passes to this always-entertaining event.
It's hard to beat a day filled with baseball, delicious food and drinks, and entertainment in San Diego’s largest livable urban neighborhood. This year, furry friends are also invited to join in on the festivities. Patrons that bring their loyal companion to the Opening Weekend Block Party on Saturday, March 31 receive $1 off drinks for the day. At 3:30pm there will be a showcase of the most adorable dogs in town at the Four-Legged Fan Parade.
Root, root, root for the home team as you rock out to live entertainment from local bands and DJs and "swing batter batter, swing!" as you test your skills in the East Village Opening Weekend Block Party’s interactive game zone. A kid zone get the young ones in the spirit with baseball themed games, jump houses, a rock wall, and other hands on activities. A day out to the ballgame would not be complete without creative beverages, so quench your thirst at the craft beer garden featuring local craft beer and baseball-themed cocktails. East Village restaurants and food trucks will line the streets to satisfy hunger.
The East Village Opening Weekend Block Party takes place on Friday, March 30 from 2-8pm, and Saturday, March 31 from 12-6:30pm. All proceeds from block party sponsorships and exhibitors will benefit the non-profit East Village Association, Inc. whose mission is to support and promote East Village businesses by establishing the community as San Diego’s livable urban village.
