OB Lanes Bowling Alley To Open At Voltaire Beach House In San Diego's Ocean Beach

April 8, 2018

Voltaire Beach House is expanding into the nearly 5,000 square-foot nextdoor space that currently houses EcoCaters and will build a 4-lane bowling alley - currently dubbed OB Lanes - that will have its own menu from Executive Chef Abe Botello.

Voltaire Beach House is a Nantucket-inspired, open-air bar and restaurant that was opened in January 2017 by restaurateurs David Schiffman, George Somers and Mark Huber - who also have ownership interests in San Diego hotspots including Florent Restaurant & Lounge, Double Deuce, Whiskey Girl, The Horn and The Rabbit Hole. Chef Nick Brune's EcoCaters is rapidly expanding and needs a larger space, so Voltaire Beach House will be taking over the adjacent property with the aim of bringing a classic bowling alley experience to Ocean Beach.

The project, tentatively called OB Lanes, will be a four-lane bowling alley open to the general public and available for private events. The space will soon be built out to add the stylish lanes and additional seating, as well as a new firepit patio with swing seats and games. OB Lanes will also offer its own bowling-inspired menu from Operational Executive Chef Abe Botello, who also oversees downtown San Diego's Florent. Chef Abe will also be implementing a new menu at Voltaire Beach House in the near future.

OB Lanes is not expected to unveil at 4934 Voltaire Street until late 2018. For more information on Voltaire Beach House and OB Lanes, visit voltairebeachhouse.com.
