Grubby's Poke & Fish Market To Open Within The Shoppes At Carlsbad

May 25, 2018

Pretty soon North County folks will be able to bring home fresh fish as part of their mall shopping experience. Heading into The Shoppes At Carlsbad is Grubby's Poke & Fish Market - a restaurant, bar and retail seafood shop from the owners of Señor Grubby's.

Carlsbad residents Justin Jachura and Nhan Lam founded Señor Grubby's in 2008 with the aim of bringing authentic Mexican fair to the San Diego North County community. Fast forward a decade and the two are expanding, teaming up with commercial broker Tony Norris and general contractor Stephen J. Diehl for the opening of Grubby's Poke & Fish Market.

Located by the mall's main entrance across from Victorias Secret, Grubby's Poke & Fish Market will offer a modern fish house feel with fast-casual counter service, repurposed wood-lined walls, a fish logo-wrapped seafood counter, and roll up windows opening up to let in the natural light. The eatery will offer a menu centered around poke seafood and rice bowls, but also offer an eclectic array of other items including wraps, salads and entrees. In addition to an expansive menu for dine-in - including a full bar with cocktails, wine and beer - Grubby's will also have a retail section where customers can purchase fresh, local, sushi-grade seafood for take away. Make-your-own poke kits and catering will also be available.

Grubby's Poke & Fish Market is located at 2525 El Camino Real, Suite 216C inside the Shoppes At Carlsbad mall. The eatery is expected to open by month's end. For more information, visit grubbyspoke.com.
