This September 7-9, don't miss the social event of the summer as world-class polo players and ponies compete on Hotel Del Coronado's private beach at the Polo America Beach Polo Cup. Those who enjoy fine dining and world-class polo in a party atmosphere are in for a special treat this year, as each of the three days has a different look, feel and schedule!
Beach Polo is taking on a party atmosphere for 2018 with every day of the event being delightfully different. On Friday night, September 7, the 10,000 square foot VIP Tent is converted into a giant cocktail lounge. The festivities start with Ron Lee from Skydiving Innovations dressed as a polo player parachuting in with the American Flag for the National Anthem. All attendees on Friday will also receive a beautiful aqua souvenir Beach Polo hat, which can be signed by the polo players at the post game party. For men, the suggested attire for Friday night is a white tuxedo jacket, black tie and colorful surfer shorts.

On Saturday, September 8, it's an interactive party. The first thing guests will see is the sand sculpture competition on the berm leading to the VIP Tent. Six world-class teams of two will create horse themed sand sculptures. For more adventurous guests, there will be an opportunity to hit a polo ball from carts as polo players drive the carts and guests attempt to take the ball down the field with a small mallet. For guests in Millionaire's Row, there will be a timed event where each box will have ten minutes to put together as many pieces of a Beach Polo puzzle as possible before the time runs out. Guests will be able to keep the puzzle and there will be award prizes for winners. There will also be photo opportunities for fans and players in front of the step and repeat trophy platform, a contest for best sundress for the ladies, and much more.
Sunday, September 9 is the Polo America Beach Polo Cup Finals. There are two exciting games - at 12pm and 2pm. The teams will battle it out for first place. It is also the annual hat contest with prizes to be awarded to most elegant and original hats. Last year's hats reportedly rivaled the Kentucky Derby and it's expected that they will again this year.
Whether you attend the Polo America Beach Polo Cup for one day or all three, you are guaranteed to have a memorable time. There are three seating options - Millionaire’s Row Boxes line the front row of the 10,000 square foot VIP Tent. Each box features white leather furniture. On the third terrace is the Gold Tables positioned in the center of the tent. Silver seating is on the two ends of the tent.
