September 18, 2018

Kampai! To celebrate World Sake Day, San Diego's BeShock Ramen and Quartyard are teaming up to host the first-ever San Diego Sake Festival on Saturday September 29, from 2-6pm. Patrons will get a chance to taste some of the best sake from Japan, meet local brewers, and enjoy hibachi pairings curated by Cowboy Star. We are raffling off two tickets to this event, so read on for details and be sure to enter!

Taking place at Quartyard urban park in downtown's East Village, the San Diego Sake Festival will start with a traditional cedar sake barrel opening ceremony known as "Kagami Biraki." The event will feature tastings of over 20 different sake producers curated by BeSHOCK Ramen's expert sake professionals. Guests will ge their own Ochoco sake glassware and get a chance to mingle with local sake brewers and sommeliers to learn about the history and production of the world famous Japanese fermented rice wine. The event will also feature live music and special Japanese hibachi food samples from East Village's Cowboy Star Restaurant & Butcher Shop.

"I am very excited to celebrate the Japanese microbrewing and fermentation cultures with highly educated and enthusiast brew-loving San Diegans!" commented certified sake master and BeShock Ramen co-owner Asaka Ito.

Tickets to the San Diego Sake Festival are available online for $35 until September 26 and $40 after that. Passes include a sake tasting glass, sake samples and food pairings. Get your tickets before the event sells out!
