Sipz Vegetarian Kitchen To Open In La Jolla

Moving into the 2,000 square-foot space that last housed Tandoori Chef in La Jolla is a new branch of Sipz Vegetarian Kitchen, a longtime San Diego restaurant chain devoted to providing healthy, vegetarian and vegan versions of classic Asian fusion dishes.

First founded in 2006 by owners Huynh and Sylvia Le, Sipz now has locations in Clairemont and North Park with a loyal following of diners looking to get a taste of the eateries eclectic array of all-vegetarian and vegan Asian dishes. The siblings also opened Trade Winds Tavern in Kearny Mesa in 2017.

Huynh, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America Napa, is the executive chef of Sipz and serves a menu of Japanese-inspired options including a variety of vegetarian sushi rolls, as well as Vietnamese, Thai and Chinese-style dishes made with vegetables and mock meats. Expect dishes like pad thai, dumpling soups, and salt & pepper tofu. The La Jolla location will also serve beer, wine and sake.

Sipz Vegetarian Kitchen will sit at 613 Pearl Street in La Jolla and is expected to open by year's end.
