Puesto Founder Makes Forbes' 30 Under 30 List For 2019

November 14, 2018

At just 25 years of age, Puesto's co-founder Alexander Adler has been named to Forbes' '30 under 30' list for 2019. He is one of two San Diego-based entrepreneur to make the list this year.

After graduating from San Diego's Francis Parker School, Alex headed off to attend New York University in Manhattan. In 2012 at just 19 years old, Alex had founded Puesto with his brothers Eric and Alan Adler, along with cousins Isidoro and Moy Lombrozo. Alex intentionally left San Diego to gain experience at college and take jobs that would help him in his role at Puesto after returning home. Post college graduation, he worked for tech companies Uber, Google and Facebook to hone his skills in marketing and advertising (particularly on social platforms). He returned home a little over a year ago to come fully onboard on the operations side of things with the Puesto company.

In that short time, he's moved ahead with a number of initiatives (including partnerships, events and pop-ups) and helped to grow the company from within, focusing on hiring. The restaurant has just opened its sixth location (yesterday!) in Concord, CA and Alex was highly involved with the process, ensuring the design and tech used throughout is state-of-the-art. With the addition of Concord, Puesto restaurants have a combined 1,200 seats throughout California. All the better to serve more tacos.

This year's Forbes 30 Under 30 List also included Kevin Gelfand and Martin Reiman, founders of San Diego-based Shake Smart, a company that brings freshly blended protein shakes and healthy food options to college recreation centers across the country. Last year's list included the founder of East Village cocktail bar & distillery You & Yours, Laura Johnson.
