Dine Out Escondido! Restaurant Week Celebrates Its Sixth Year This January 27 - February 2
January 12, 2019
Enjoy delicious specials from more than 30 highly-acclaimed chefs, restaurateurs, and eateries in San Diego's North County during the 6th incarnation of Dine Out Escondido! Restaurant Week, taking place from January 27 through February 2 to benefit North County Food Bank.
Held in partnership with California Restaurant Month, Dine Out Escondido! Restaurant Week gives Southern California residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy scrumptious specials from Escondido’s top eateries while savoring the diverse culinary flavors of the North County neighbood by visiting favorite places and exploring new dining destinations. There are no food themes or menu restrictions to what each restaurant can offer, so the range of diversity provides something for everyone.
"With over thirty local eateries offering unique specials, our restaurant week gives everyone the perfect excuse to finally get out to that great restaurant they haven’t tried yet, all while giving back to kids’ programs at the North County Food Bank," said Katherine Zimmer, tourism manager for the City of Escondido.
Continuing to support the North County Food Bank, many Dine Out Escondido! restaurants are donating $1 of every special they sell during this week to the North County Food Bank’s Food 4 Kids Backpack Program, which provides weekend backpacks filled with nutritious food to elementary school students in need. Last year DOE restaurants raised $2,235.00, feeding twelve kids for an entire year. Organizers hope to double that number this year. Currently, the Food 4 Kids Backpack Program serves 1,733 elementary school students at 37 schools in 11 school districts. To feed one child for the entire school year costs $200, for one month it costs $22, and for one weekend it costs $5.50.
"We are very grateful to the restaurants that are supporting our North County Food 4 Kids Backpack Program through the Dine Out Escondido! campaign," said Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank CEO James A. Floros. "Children on the program receive free meals at school during the week, but face hunger over the weekend when school meals are unavailable. Funds raised through Dine Out Escondido! help us provide weekend backpacks filled with food to elementary school children living in poverty."
Enjoy the diverse culinary flavors of Escondido during Dine Out Escondido! Take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to visit your favorite restaurants and discover new places. For more information, Â including specials and menus, visit visitescondido.com/dine-out-escondido-restaurant-week.

About SanDiegoVille
SanDiegoVille was created in 2010 to report about all the fun & delicious happenings taking place around America's Finest City and we quickly earned a reputation for being a news source for and by those that shun archaic journalistic practices in pursuit of reporting the real story. We are a different kind of news site with no desire to conform to antiquated ideas of how many believe journalism should be. We pound the pavement for our exclusive coverage instead of waiting for permission to break news from the fancy public relations firms that regularly spoon-feed mainstream media sources their story ideas, influencing journalists’ opinions with freebies and fanfare. SanDiegoVille reports fairly on the top entertainment happenings and small businesses doing it right, while not shying away from hard topics and questions you won’t read in local publications where editorial direction is ultimately steered by the sales department. We are a concerted threat to legacy media organizations, and proudly so.
