A new Dunkin’ Donuts location is popping up in the heart of Hillcrest, currently building out the old Los Panchos Mexican space for a modern version of the classic donut & coffee chain.
Like other San Diego branches, the Hillcrest Dunkin' Donuts is owned and operated by a local San Diego military veteran and experienced franchise group, Burton Restaurants LLC. The franchisee opened San Diego’s first Drive-thru Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant located in National City, and over the past three years has opened or purchased locations on seven military bases and four other locations across San Diego, including the most recent opening in El Cajon. Over the coming years, there are plans to open several additional Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the San Diego area.
Simlar to the El Cajon location, the Hillcrest outpost will feature the store of the future design. The location will have a cold brew tap system, which will allow the store to offer Nitro Coffee, as well as a new front counter bakery case for an enhanced customer experience. The Dunkin’ Donuts’ new restaurant experience in Hillcrest will include a modern design with more natural light, an innovative tap system serving consistently cold beverages, an area dedicated to mobile pickups, a certified restaurant that is designed to save 25% more energy compared to a standard Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant, and a drive through window. While the Hillcrest location is being built, Dunkin' will operate a mobile donut and food truck on the premises from Monday-Friday from 7am-noon. San Diego's newest Dunkin' Donuts hopes to open by this summer.
