Rockin' Baja Lobster Shutters Mira Mesa Location

May 14, 2019

San Diego-based seafood chain Rockin' Baja Lobster has announced the closure of its Mira Mesa location.

Inspired by road trips to the Baja Norte fishing village of Puerto Nuevo, Rick DiRienzo opened his first Rockin' Baja Lobster restaurant in 1992 at the Oceanside Marina in North San Diego County. Along with his father Joe, the family converted their former grocery into a restaurant. Centered around a menu of signature Baja Buckets filled with fried and seasoned seafood, the restaurant grew in popularity and eventually launched locations throughout Southern California, as well as in Texas, Alabama, Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi.

Although the Rockin' Baja Lobster restaurant at Mira Mesa Mall has closed for business, there are still four other branches in operation - Gaslamp, Oceanside, Old Town annd Newport Beach. For more information, visit rockinbaja.com.
