A North Park staple for stacked sandwiches for nearly 10 years, Fat Boy's Deli & Spirits will open a new location in San Diego's East County.
Andre Brikho, the son of an Iraqi Chaldean immigrant, opened a check-cashing business at the current Fat Boy’s location in North Park in 2004. In December 2009, he turned the shop into Fat Boy's Deli, selling everything from gourmet sandwiches to tobacco to household necessities. In 2011, he was able to begin selling beer, wine and liquor from the market. Over it's nearly decade long tenure, Fat Boy's has become known as one of San Diego's top sandwich shops, serving a large array of signature hot & cold sandwiches, wraps, salads, sides, soups, and hot dogs, as well as Boar's Head meats and cheeses by the pound.
A second Fat Boy's Deli & Spirits has installed in the space last occupied by Los Coches Liquor & Delicatessen in the Glenview area of San Diego's East County. Although the liquor store and market is currently open, the deli portion of the business will not unveil until early 2020.
