Hailing from Los Angeles' Koreatown, Instagram sensation SomiSomi Soft Serve & Taiyaki will launch its second San Diego branch in Mira Mesa later this year, taking over the space last occupied by Pacific Poke within Namaste Plaza. A third area outpost will also open inside Westfield UTC mall in La Jolla.
Since opening the flagship location in Los Angeles' Koreatown in fall 2016, SomiSomi Soft Serve & Taiyaki has been rapidly expanding, now boasting more than 25k followers on Instagram and eleven locations in operation with a dozen more in development. The first San Diego branch opened in late 2017 on Convoy Street in Kearny Mesa and quickly gained a following due to its menu of delicious and photogenic desserts.
SomiSomi will open at least two more locations in San Diego in the next year. Like other branches, the eateries will serve freshly baked, fish-shaped flavored waffle cones filled with an eclectic array of soft serve flavors, including black sesame, purple yam, match and ube.
SomiSomi locations will open by year's end at 9168 Mira Mesa Boulevard in Mira Mesa and 4545 La Jolla Village Drive in La Jolla's Westfield UTC. For more information, visit somisomi.com.
