The cooperative that owns Ocean Beach People's Organic Food Market opened the bi-level OB Garden Café in January 2018, but the vegetarian restaurant has announced it will close after close of business today.
"Just over a year and a half ago Ocean Beach People’s Organic Food Market opened a new business, the O.B. Garden Café," wrote General Manager Jim Kase. "Since then, many of our owners and members of the community have enjoyed delicious organic food in the beautiful garden setting. We appreciate everyone who supported the café, as well as the amazing staff who put their hearts and souls into the new endeavor. Unfortunately, the café did not sustain the amount of business needed to make it a viable venture. Therefore, it is with a heavy heart that I must announce that the O.B. Garden Café will cease operations as of Sunday, September 15, 2019."
There is no word yet on what will come of the two-story building built at 4741 Voltaire Street in Ocean Beach.
