Los Angeles-Based French Bistro & Wine Bar Zinqué Opens Tonight In San Diego's Little Italy

September 9, 2019

Opening today on the base floor of Little Italy's newest mixed-used complex is Zinqué, a 3,000 square-foot, all-day French bistro, cafe and wine bar with five Southern California locations in operation.

First founded in Los Angeles in 2011 by Marseille-native Emanual Renaud, Venkataramana Arimilli, and Howard Brady, Zinqué is an all-day French cafe & bistro concept that currently has five branches - Venice Beach, West Hollywood, Downtown Los Angeles, Newport Beach, and as of tonight, San Diego. The restaurants offer modern and traditional French-inspired dishes for brunch, lunch and dinner, as well as fresh baked breads and pastries.

Zinqué's most southerly location opens today at 4pm within the recently unveiled AV8 mixed-use retail and residential development in San Diego's Little Italy, which also houses a SuperNatural Sandwiches restaurant and a new F45 Gym. Like other outposts, Zinqué San Diego is designed with a central bar, wooden tables, a fireplace, wrought-iron windows and covered patio seating. In addition to a wine bar and chic interior spaces, Zinqué will have a streetside takeout counter offering coffee drinks made with La Colombe beans, as well as Mariage Frères teas and freshly made bakery items. Highlights from Zinqué’s menu include a variety of charcuterie & cheese boards, salads, bowls, tartines, flatbreads, sandwiches and a large array of entrees. The restaurant also offers healthier options like the jam-packed Le Bowl, Quinoa Salad, or Tuna Tartare Tartine and is also known for nightly specials like Paella Night and Moules-Frites Night.
