Animae-Adjacent NIMA Café Opens In Downtown San Diego

November 4, 2019

After unveiling his $5.5 million upscale Asian-fusion restaurant Animaé earlier this fall, Chef Brian Malarkey has opened NIMA Café in the adjacent base floor space at downtown San Diego's new Pacific Gate by Bosa luxury high rise.

Announced in early 2018, Chef Brian Malarkey and Chris Puffer's highly anticipated Animae restaurants opened this past September with a seasonal menu developed by Malarkety and Executive Chef Joe Magnanelli. Malarkey will also unveil Herb & Sea in downtown Encinitas starting tonight.

Nima Café opened over the weekend in the well-lit space adjacent to Animae, offering ample seating and views of downtown San Diego's bayfront. The eatery will operate from 7am to 3pm daily and offer an Asian-inspired menu featuring unique dishes like a Matcha croissant, spam and egg musubi, pour-over ramen, spring rolls, and even a banh mi sandwich. To compliment the food offerings, there will also be coffee drinks, draft beer, kombucha, wine, and smoothies.

Nima Café is located at 969 Pacific Highway on downtown San Diego's Bayfront. For more information, call 619.432.1225 and check out the menu and photos below.
