Destination For All Things Vegan, The Village Is Now Open In San Diego's North Park

January 4, 2020

Now open in the 4,000 square-foot North Park standalone restaurant space that last housed Anthem Vegan is The Village - a family-operated, 100% plant-based eatery serving an extensive menu of salads, bowls, soups, Mexican entrees, ramen and sushi.

Sisters and East County natives Alondra Ruiz and Sonia Gutierrez opened Natural Delights Juice Bar in the Rancho San Diego Village plaza in La Mesa in November 2016, offering a menu of quick-service, healthy vegan eats including salads, paninis, acai bowls, juices, smoothies and Mexican delights like tacos, frescas con crema, chamangos, tostilocos, and elote in a cup. The family run operation took over the North Park space that previously housed Anthem Vegan last year in order to grow, and as the old truism goes, it takes a village... to expand a restaurant concept.

The Village is now in its soft opening stage, offering a copious 100% vegan menu. The expansive offerings include dishes ranging from Mexican comfort foods to sandwiches to burgers, sushi, juice and smoothies. The restaurant will also host a monthly second and fourth Saturday vegan night market, dubbed The Village Social, in the restaurant's parking lot with proceeds going to benefit a vegan-focused charity.

The Village is currently open from 4-9pm with operating hours to be extended in the coming weeks. The restaurant is located at 2611 El Cajon Boulevard in San Diego's North Park. For more information, visit thevillagesd.com and check out the menu below.
