Ocean Beach Meat Company To Open Brick-And-Mortar Location At Former The Village Kitchen Space

February 29, 2020

Operated as an area pop-up since early last summer, Ocean Beach Meat Company will soon open a brick and mortar eatery in the space that last housed The Village Kitchen.

The Ocean Beach Meat Company was started in mid-June 2019 by partners Bobby Kokinda and Shannon Nault, who initially ran their online retail meat company out of their OB residence. The couple recently signed a lease on the unit previously occupied for more than three decades by The Village, although the restaurant was originally set to be sold to City Tacos.

Ocean Beach Meat Company hopes to open by this June for the OB Street Fair. The eatery will offer a menu of smoked ribs, bacon wrapped chicken, brisket burnt ends, and tri-tip, as well as a variety of sides, and sandwiches. There will also be a retail section with homemade recipes, merchandise and a selection of house-made jerky in flavors like smoked OG, black pepper, three-pepper, hot stuff, kalbi and brisket rub.

Ocean Beach Meat Co. will be located at 4853 Newport Avenue in San Diego's Ocean Beach. For more information, visit obmeatco.com.
