North County San Diego's Frazier Farms Independent Market To Open La Mesa Location

March 5, 2020

One of North County top independent grocery stores, Frazier Farms will soon open a more central San Diego location.

Charles Frazier opened the first Frazier Farms store on Grand Avenue in Escondido in 1971 and eventually opened branches in Santee and Rancho Bernardo. The stores were sold in 1983 and operated under various names including Boney's, Henry's, and Sprouts Market. In 2006, the Frazier family regained ownership and reverted back to the family name. They currently operate locations in Vista and Oceanside.

Frazier Farms takes pride in selling quality items at a good value. The independent grocery is known for purchasing from local farmers throughout the county and boasting a large selection of organic produce. In addition to a full grocery, Frazier Farms locations each have a meat counter with grass-fed, choice, and prime meats, organic and all-natural poultry, and their own house made sausages and items for take home. The stores also have one of the largest seafood cases in the county at 24 feet long with a huge selection of fresh sustainable seafood options.

Frazier Farms recently took over a 31,441 square-foot former Best Buy in San Diego's La Mesa community. The retail grocery store will feature a coffee and juice bar with espresso drinks made with locally roasted organic coffee. There will also be a fresh-pressed juice bar with organic fruits and vegetable juices made daily, as well as smoothies, acai bowls, and gelato. The store will also have a bakery with the majority of items prepared in-house, as well as a scratch-kitchen making salads, entrees, and grab-and-go items. There will also be a fresh salad and olive bar, a large selection of sandwiches made to order, a pizza oven with slices and whole pies, and beer & wine for takeaway.

Frazier Farms hopes to open by this September at 8402 Fletcher Parkway in La Mesa. For more information, visit frazierfarmsmarket.com.
