Second Longtime San Diego Area Magazine Folds Due To Covid-19 Coronavirus

March 26, 2020

The second long-running San Diego-area magazine to have folded this week, San Diego Home & Garden Lifestyle has announced that the April issue will be its last after a four decade run.

"San Diego Home/Garden Lifestyles magazine today writes its final chapter in a 41-year-history that included many editors, art directors, writers and photographers over the years," announced the San Diego Home & Garden team in a post on the company's website and social media channels. "We, the team that redesigned the magazine in 2018, thanks you, our loyal readers, writers, photographers, partners and community, for sticking with us, championing our efforts, contributing your talents and being part of the stories we so passionately told."

Since 1979, San Diego Home/Garden Lifestyles has been published by the same company behind KUSI-TV - locally-based McKinnon Broadcasting. The company's head editor was Wendy Generes.
San Diego Magazine also laid off their entire staff earlier this week and have ceased all operations after a 72 year tenure.
