The experienced San Diego restaurateur behind such concepts as Farmer's Table and Farmer's Bottega is gearing up to launch Smokey & The Brisket, a motorcycle and car-themed barbecue restaurant heading into the 4,600 square-foot standalone building that last housed Lake Murray Café in La Mesa.
Growing up near Palermo, Sicily, Alberto Morreale has been cooking since age 14 always dreamed of becoming a master chef. Alberto has now been in the restaurant industry for over 30 years and owns multiple San Diego restaurants, including Farmer's Bottega and Farmer's Table locations in La Mesa, Bay Park, and Little Italy. Smokey & The Brisket will be his second restaurant in the La Mesa community.
Being Alberto is extremely passionate about off-road motorcycles, restoring vintage cars, outdoor activities, cooking, and espresso, Smokey & The Brisket will be devoted to all those loves. The restaurant's interior design will include a kitchen on display, a panel van bar and several motorcycles for decoration, as well as televisions playing motor sports. The eatery will offer patio seating and a parking lot beer garden with family friendly activities. The menu will feature all the classic barbecue meats and sides, as well as wood-fired and rotisserie dishes. There will also be a craft beer, wine, soft drinks and a full espresso bar.
Smokey & The Brisket hopes to open by this October at 5465 Lake Murray Boulevard in San Diego's La Mesa community.
