Where To Find KFC’s Beyond Fried Chicken In San Diego

July 20, 2020

Today KFC releases its plant-based Beyond Fried Chicken in select markets around the country, including in more than 20 locations around San Diego County. Here is where to find it!

KFC had already tested its faux fried chicken, which is made by Beyond Meat, first in Atlanta for one day last summer and then for a limited time in Nashville and Charlotte this past winter. The current version was released today at 50 Kentucky Fried Chicken branches in Southern California in an effort to track the results to determine whether to make Beyond Fried Chicken available nationally.

KFC will sell Beyond Fried Chicken nuggets in six or 12-piece combo meals or a la carte with prices starting at $6.99 plus tax. There will be 22 San Diego KFC locations serving the new plant-based option, including branches in Vista, Escondido, Chula Vista, El Cajon, Imperial Beach, Clairemont, and North park. The full location list is published below.

KFC is the latest fast food company to introduce plant-based options. Carl’s Jr., Starbucks, Del Taco, Burger King, and Dunkin’ all introduced plant-based dishes in the past year, although KFC has clarified that their Beyond Fried Chicken is not considered vegan or vegetarian because it is cooked in the same oil as their actual chicken.
