More Nashville-style spicy fried chicken is coming to San Diego. My Chick is set to open later this year in the Scripps Ranch space that last housed Bruski Burgers & Brews.
Local restaurateur Bob Adamson is a veteran of the San Diego restaurant industry, with ownership interests in such area businesses as Public House 131 in Scripps Ranch and Luigi’s at the Beach in Mission Beach. His next project will be My Chick, a fast-casual restaurant with a menu centered around Nashville hot chicken. Expect spicy fried chicken in regular and sandwich form at a variety of spice levels, as well as comfort food sides and a selection of healthier grilled and vegan options.
"We have 3 teenagers at home that drive all around San Diego for chicken sandwiches so we said why not create one close to home," explained My Chick manager Michelle Melendez.
The 2,100 square-foot former Bruski space is currently undergoing a renovation to incorporate plenty of bright colors and neon signs, as well as an "Instagram wall". There will also be an expansive outdoor patio. My Chick will be counter service eatery with a central bar offering 24 beers on tap and a good selection of local beers to go in 4 and 6 packs, as well as a variety of wine.
My Chick is anticipated to open this fall at 9844 Hibert Street within Scripps Ranch Shopping Center.
