Team Behind Pacific Beach's Enoteca Adriano To Open Italian Deli & Gelateria

August 10, 2020

The chef and owner of Pacific Beach's 11-year-old Enoteca Adriano has taken over the space next door to his restaurant to launch Via Adriano, an Italian deli and gelateria opening later this year.

Native Italian Chef Francesco Tassone opened Enoteca Adriano in 2009 on a quiet stretch of Cass Street in San Diego's Pacific Beach. The restaurant, which has greatly expanded its outdoor space to deal with recently implemented social distancing precautions, has long been a destination for authentic Italian fare and wine. Tassone has recently taken over the neighboring 900 square-foot retail space that previously served as a wellness center and will open Pacific Beach's first Italian Deli.

Via Adriano will serve a variety of Italian delicacies, including panini sandwiches and gelato. The eatery will also serve as a market with a variety of imported items. Expect made to order sandwiches like the classic meatball with grilled eggplant and smoked mozzarella, and the grilled pork with burrata, heirloom tomatoes, and pistachio pesto spread on grilled ciabatta bread.

Via Adriano is expected to open as early as this fall at 4856 Cass Street in San Diego's Pacific Beach. For more information, visit enotecaadriano.com.
