San Diego Ballet Company has announced it will host an outdoor, drive-in performance of The Nutcracker this holiday season in Liberty Station.
To ring in the holiday season during this unprecedented year mired by the COVID-19 pandemic, the San Diego Ballet has announced it will host five outdoor matinee performances of The Nutcracker, featuring sugarplum fairies, leaping cossacks and flurries of snowflakes. The entertainment company will take over Lot N in Liberty Station to host up to 30 vehicles, transforming the lot into a pop-up theater with a drive-in format that will allow groups to enjoy an hour long classical production while safely socially distancing.
Tickets per vehicle for The Nut Cracker shows are $139 for VIP front row parking and $99 for general admission. They will take place at noon and 3pm on Friday, November 27 through Sunday, November 29, as well as on Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6. Attendees are encouraged to bring portable chairs and blankets, as well as food and beverages from area eateries to enjoy "tailgate-style" in their dedicated parking spot.
