A chef-driven butcher shop specializing in Japanese Wagyu beef is opening a pop-up location in San Diego's Pacific Beach neighborhood.
Chef Steve Brown opened his first Swagyu Chop Shop this past summer at 1002 Palm Avenue in Imperial Beach and already has another location in the works at 14149 Twin Peaks Road in Poway. With the shutdown on onsite dining now in effect, Brown has taken over Pacific Beach's Isabel's Cantina and will begin selling his Wagyu beef starting on Wednesday, December 9, at noon. Brown also hopes to revive his Cosecha wagyu tasting dinners at Isabel's once the dining ban is lifted.Swagyu Chop Shop will open for business Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 6pm at 966 Felspar Street in Pacific Beach beginning on December 9.
