MRKT SPACE is an upscale convenient store, bottle shop, cafe, bar and all-day restaurant concept first started last year in the Leighton Beach area of Australia. The first San Diego branch anticipated to open this May within the 3,100 square-foot ground floor unit at the new The Beacons mixed-use development on Highway 101 in Encinitas. A second area outpost will open as early as August as part of the Whitney mixed-use development that unveiled this past summer in La Jolla Shores.
Like the original location in Perth, Australia, the San Diego branches will serve an all-day menu of Italian-inspired dishes, like breakfast, sandwiches and charcuterie boards, as well as bakery items such as pastries, cakes, croissants, biscuits and muffins. The market will sell a large variety of organic and vegan items, including produce, fresh baked bread, eggs, cured meats and cheese. There will also be a full bar with wine, beer and spirits, which will also be available to-go from a luxury bottle shop. The San Diego locations will be operated by Encinitas local Matthew Power.
The San Diego outposts of MRKT Space will be located at 774-782 North Coast Highway 101 in Encinitas and 2202 Avenida De La Playa in La Jolla Shores. For more information, visit mrktspace.co and check out the draft food menu below.
