Breakfast Bitch Ends Run In Hillcrest With Plans To Reopen At New Location In San Diego

February 2, 2021

We have received word that all-day brunch destination Breakfast Bitch has ended its short run in Hillcrest, but the eatery has plans to revive at a new location in San Diego once stay-at-home restrictions are lifted.

Breakfast Bitch was opened in July 2019 at 3825 Fifth Avenue in San Diego's Hillcrest community. A second outpost of Breakfast Beach opened in Phoenix, AZ, in November 2020 and remains in business. The restaurant concept is owned and operated by former pro-footballer Derrell Hutsona and his wife Tracii, who both also operate Elite Lux Life VIP concierge services and lifestyle management in the Los Angeles area. Breakfast Bitch is an all-day brunch restaurant that offers a menu of cheeky-named items like croissant sandwiches, egg plates, and create-your-own pancakes, complimented by a drink menu featuring Bloody Marys, mimosas, bellinis and CBD spritzers.

"We've been in Phoenix at our new location," explained Breakfast Bitch founder Tracii Hutsona. "We did close our Hillcrest restaurant during the long stay at home order. We had pretty much outgrown that spot, and decided to take  this down time during Covid to actively look for another location and get ramped up and ready to reopen when the city does! We tried to stay open to employ our staff, but it just made more sense to relocate some staff to Phoenix, and have them return to SD when it opens 100%."

Breakfast Bitch is currently searching for a new space in San Diego to revive once COVID-19 restrictions on onsite dining are relaxed. Owners are currently looking at locations in North Park & Hillcrest. For more information, visit eatbreakfastbitch.com.
