Piacere Mio owners Marco Fontana, Fabio Speziali and Antonino Mastellone are in the process of taking over the Carlsbad Village corner unit occupied by Caldo Pomodoro for the past three decades. While the name of the incoming eatery is still to-be-determined, the menu will certainly include antipasti, Italian appetizers, meat and seafood-based entrees and housemade pasta fashioned in a variety of shapes to pair with different sauces. The new restaurant will also have a list of Italian wines and craft beer.
"We are working with the same designer Maria Paola Miele to honor this cute corner in Carlsbad village," explained Piacere Mio co-owner Marco Fontana. "We will have inside and outside seating area. We didn’t pick the DBA name yet (it should come this week). It will be most likely a Piacere Mio sister restaurant , but there is a little chance it will be the third Piacere Mio. We are working with Chef Ivan Napolitano on the new menu to fit it this great community. We will produce our homemade pasta variety as we are doing with the Piacere Mio concept. Our goal is to build a nice restaurant, offering a good quality of food, tasty flavors, casual - friendly atmosphere and honest prices. A place where you can feel at home at your first visit and leave it satisfied."
The new Piacere Mio sister concept is expected to open by year's end at 2907 State Street in Carlsbad. For more information, visit piaceremiosd.com.
