San Diego's Tofu House Restaurant To Open SDSU College Area Location

June 12, 2021

San Diego's decades-old Tofu House Korean restaurant will soon open its third location in the SDSU College Area.

Founded by Seoul, Korea native Joonsok Kim in San Diego's Kearny Mesa in 1998, Tofu House is a casual restaurant with a menu centered around tofu soup and hot-stone plated Korean barbecue and seafood dishes. In 2015, the second Tofu House opened in Mira Mesa. During the pandemic, the restaurant was one of the first to implement an outdoor dining model in the original location's parking lot, which was lauded as an example of how restaurants should set up by then-mayor Kevin Faulconer.

The third area Tofu House is expected to open this summer in the plaza that also houses Tajima Ramen and Big 5 Sporting Goods just steps from the San Diego State University Campus. This will be the company's first franchised location. In addition to its full food menu, the new location will also sell beer, sake, soju, and the popular hot corn tea.

Tofu House will open as early as this July at 6061 El Cajon Blvd. Suite 4, in the SDSU College Area. For more information, visit ustofuhouse.com and check out the menu below.
