Bay Area-Based Indian Street Food Concept Curry Up Now To Open First San Diego Location

One of the country's fastest-growing Indian fast casual concepts, Curry Up Now will soon launch its first of several San Diego locations. 

Founded as a food truck in Burlingame, CA, in 2009 by husband-and-wife partners Akash and Rana Kapoor, Curry Up Now has since expanded to include three food trucks, 14 brick-and-mortar restaurants spanning from California to New Jersey, and several "virtual" kitchen outposts. The fast casual chain of eateries serves a menu featuring approachable dishes made with Indian flavors and ingredients. Utilizing food formats that are recognizable to the mainstream, Curry Up's signature dishes include burritos, bowls, tacos, smothered "Sexy Fries", and "Naughty Naan" flatbreads, as well as a wide variety of Indian street food snacks and traditional items like Thali platters, Kathi rolls and family style entrees.

Curry Up Now's first San Diego location will open within University of California San Diego's Price Center. The UCSD location will operate from a 1,400 square-foot kitchen space with walk-up ordering and general seating available within the Price Center. Curry Up Now is currently in the process of an expansion partnership with franchise development company Fransmart, which is known for growing brands like Five Guys, The Halal Guys and Ike's Love & Sandwiches. Several additional Curry Up Now locations are planned for other areas in San Diego County.

Curry Up Now is anticipated to open this November in the UCSD Price Center, located at 9500 Gillman Drive in San Diego's La Jolla. For more information, visit
