IDessert By Jean-Philippe Ends Run In San Diego's Little Italy

September 13, 2021

After a 6 year run in the heart of San Diego's bustling Little Italy neighborhood, futuristic dessert shop iDessert by Jean-Phillippe has permanently shuttered.

Founded in 2015 by "The Best Pastry Chef of France" and Food Network Star Jean-Philippe Maury, iDessert offered an interactive dining experience where patrons ordered from digital iPad menus. The modern dessert shop offered a customizable menu with 20 crunchy meringue shells able to be filled with a bed of cakes and creams, then topped with gelato or sorbet, fruits, crunchy toppings and sauces.

Jean-Philippe Maury also previously operated Jean-Philippe Patisserie, which shuttered locations in Las Vegas' ARIA and Bellagio hotels in 2018. The talented pastry chef hoped iDessert, which took two years to bring to market, would be a franchisable concept. With iDesserts departure from Little Italy, the space at 1608 India Street is now up for grabs
