California Bay Area's popular Torsap Thai Kitchen will bring an elevated Thai culinary experience to San Diego.
Twenty-five years ago, Chef Lalita Soukasamlane brought the quintessential Thai culinary experience to San Francisco with the opening of Osha Thai restaurant. In 2019, Chef Lalita teamed up with Wendy Torsap Sanchez to open the first Torsap Thai Kitchen restaurant in Walnut Creek, CA. Souksamlane also helped with the opening of Lao Table restaurant in San Francisco's SoMa district in 2016.
Torsap Thai will open in a nearly 4,000 square-foot indoor/outdoor space within The Square at Bressi Ranch shopping plaza in Carlsbad. The restaurant will offer an all-day menu featuring regional Thai specialties and inspired takes on American comfort foods. Breakfast items include dishes like avocado toast with smoked salmon, a Thai sausage scramble, and pandan & coconut pancakes. Lunch and dinner items include noodles, soups, curries, fresh oysters, bacon wrapped scallops, a Kobe beef steak salad, and signature items like the E-SAAN style 50-ounce Tomahawk steak, and the Volcanic beef wok-grilled flank steak with Thai basil, bell pepper, onion rings and Lava sauce. The restaurant will also serve an array of beer and wine.
