DIY Workshop Chain Board & Brush Creative Studio To Open New San Diego Location

March 7, 2022

Do-it-yourself woodworking workshop concept Board & Brush Creative Studio is opening a second San Diego location.

What began as a holiday "girls' night out" idea in Hartland, Wisconsin, with wine and crafts in founder Julie Selby's basement, turned into a thriving business launched in March 2015. Board & Brush now has more than 250 franchise locations in 42 states, as well as in Japan & Canada, Each branch offers an endless variety of hands-on experiences including DIY workshops, private parties, bridal showers, bachelorette gatherings, corporate events, and fundraisers. The first San Diego location of Board & Brush opened in Oceanside in spring 2018.

The second area outpost of Board & Brush will open in the industrial Carmel Business Center in Carmel Mountain Ranch and will be operated by franchisees Jennifer & Gary Valencia. Customers begin their DIY experience by registering online where they will choose from 400+ projects and enter preferred customizations. Each workshop lasts about three hours and attendees can select from hundreds of design templates, with new ones added each month. The company works with top graphic designers around the country to create the designs, most with a vintage farmhouse look. Participants start with raw wood and over the course of a workshop an instructor will lead them through the process of creating their own unique decor project. Beer and wine is also served during the experience.

The new Board & Brush Creative Studio is expected to open this spring at 12225 World Trade Drive, Suite M, in San Diego's North County. For more information, visit boardandbrush.com/sandiego.
