Madison On Park Owners Taking Over Former Pachamama Space In San Diego's Normal Heights For New Breakfast & Brunch-Focused Restaurant

March 12, 2022

The owners of University Heights hotspot Madison on Park are in the process of taking over the space previously occupied by Pachamama in San Diego's Normal Heights for the opening of a new breakfast & brunch-focused restaurant dubbed "Madi".

In early 2016, Madison unveiled in the former Lei Lounge space in San Diego's University Heights. A collaboration between experienced San Diego industry insiders, Madison is owned by Jeffrey Fink, a longtime attorney who also long-operated M-Theory Music and FLUXX nightclub, and General Manager Matt Sieve, formerly of Isabel’s Cantina and a third generation restaurateur, who takes care of Madison’s day-to-day operations. In its six year tenure, Madison has won numerous awards, including several design acknowledgements. Madison is the first restaurant designed by Anna and David Sindelar, the husband and wife team behind the industrial design firm, ARCHISECTS, and the former creative directors at FLUXX Nightclub.

The Madison team is in the process of taking over the 2,058 square-foot Normal Heights building that last housed Pachamama, a controversial-from-the-start South American restaurant that abruptly shuttered last fall. While details are still scarce at this early juncture, expect the indoor/outdoor space to receive an impressive retro-style redesign from Dave and Anna Sindelar of ARCHISECTS and to reopen as a brunch-centric, globally-inspired restaurant named Madi. As far as beverages, there is currently only a beer & wine license, so options will include juices, a coffee program, craft beer, amaro cocktails, sparkling wine and a curated wine list.

MADI is expected to open at some point this summer at 3737 Adams Avenue in San Diego's Normal Heights. For more information, visit madisononpark.com and check out Madi's menu below.
