Chicago Pizza Specialists Rosati's Pizza To Open New San Diego Location

April 30, 2022

A half-century-old Chicago pizzeria chain with locations around the country, Rosati's Pizza will soon open a new San Diego restaurant.

In 1964, third generation pizza makers, brothers Dick, Ron and Al Rosati, opened the first Rosati's Pizzeria in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. At the time, a total of 10 Rosati family members owned pizzerias in the Chicago area, and in 1978, the family began franchising their restaurants. Now there are nearly 200 Rosati's Pizza restaurants around the country, including one in San Diego's North County community of Encinitas.

The new San Diego location of Rosati's Pizza will open in the space that last housed Fish Grub in the Grantville area. Expect an extensive pizzeria menu with appetizers, wings, salads, sandwiches, pastas, desserts, and both Chicago-style deep dish and thin crust pizza options. There will also be a full bar with beer wine and cocktails.

Rosati's Pizza is anticipated to open by late summer at 5855 Mission Gorge Road in San Diego's Grantville neighborhood. For more information, visit myrosatischicago.com.
