Comedian Kevin Hart To Bring Location Of His Hart House Vegan Fast Food Restaurant To San Diego

June 18, 2022

Comedian Kevin Hart is planning to open a location of his Hart House vegan fast-food eatery in San Diego.

Actor, comedian & entrepreneur Kevin Hart is looking to uproot the fast food industry with this summer's launch of Hart House, a new affordable, quick-service vegan eatery launching its first location in Hollywood, CA. Hart revealed his plant-based diet in a recent interview on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, explaining a near-death experience in an accident led him to lead a healthier lifestyle, including abstaining from red meat, fish and any seafood. The new restaurant is a partnership between Hart, entrepreneur Andy Hooper, and Chef Michael Salem, the former head of culinary innovation at Burger King that helped get the vegan Impossible Whopper on the menu in 2019.

"I am thrilled to announce that I have collaborated with an all-star team of partners and industry leaders to create an industry-changing restaurant called Hart House," Hart announced on Instagram. "This thing is going to be huge! We’re going to serve delicious, sustainable food that delivers can’t-believe-it-flavor in every bite. We’ll be opening our first few locations in the LA area, but we will be expanding quickly."

The first San Diego location of Hart House will open in the space that last housed a Pure Burger in Carlsbad's Bressi Ranch community. The Hart House menu will feature only plant-based items, including vegan burgers, mock chicken sandwiches, salads, nuggets, fries, tots and oat-milkshakes that are completely free of hormones, artificial colors, preservatives, and high fructose corn syrup. The brand also embraces green initiatives by using recyclable and compostable packaging.

Hart House is anticipated to open by year's end at 2641 Gateway Road, Suite 102, in San Diego's North County community of Carlsbad. For more information, visit myharthouse.com.
