The 21st Annual San Diego International Film Festival is really ‘Putting the Fest Back in Festival!’ this year including the return of the Opening Night Film Premiere & Reception, the Night of the Stars Tribute, Culinary Cinema, plus more in-person parties, panels and networking events. Produced by the San Diego Film Foundation, the festival announced today that for their 21st annual version they have programmed Gala Features including Opening Night Film Armageddon Time, starring Anne Hathaway, Jeremy Strong and Anthony Hopkins, and and Closing Night Film Empire of Light, with Acadamy Award winners Olivia Colman and Colin Firth.

This year's San Diego Film Fest will also honor Colson Baker, better known as Machine Gun Kelly, with the annual Spotlight Award. MGK will receive his award after the special Spotlight Screening of his film Taurus on October 23 at AMC UTC 14 at Westfield UTC Mall in La Jolla.
This year's San Diego International Film Festival will screen 115 films, as well as offer a robust calendar of unique signature events. Screenings will be held primarily at the AMC UTC 14 Theater and The Lot in La Jolla. Kicking off on Wednesday, October 19, the Opening Night Party will take place at the Museum of Photographic Arts in Balboa Park.
