Food Network Star Guy Fieri Spotted Filming Around San Diego This Week

September 23, 2022

Food Network star Guy Fieri, known for making family restaurants overnight sensations through the popularity of his Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives television show, has been spotted filming around San Diego this week.

American restaurateur, author, and Emmy Award-winning television host Guy Fieri is certainly no stranger to America's Finest City, as he has featured at least 17 area restaurants on his hit Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives Food Network series over the years, including Blue Water Seafood Market & Grill, Crazee Burger, Crest Cafe, Hob Nob Hill, OB Noodle House, Pizzeria Luigi, Studio Diner, and Hodad's. Last year, Fieri gave two San Diego restaurants $25,000 grants as part of a non-profit partnership between the celebrity chef and the California Restaurant Foundation. In early 2021, Guy Fieri launched three San Diego locations of his online-exclusive Flavortown Kitchen concept

Today, Fieri was spotted filming at Bar Kindred in San Diego's South Park. Sporting his 1969 yellow Chevrolet Corvette convertible, Fieri's entourage during his South Park visit included local skateboard legend Tony Hawk, who is in the process of opening Chick & Hawk neighborhood restaurant & bar in San Diego North County. While visiting America's Finest City this week, Fieri stayed several nights at downtown's InterContinental San Diego hotel and was also seen filming at Tuetano Taqueria in Old Town, Sovereign Thai restaurant in the East Village, NOLA on 5th in Hillcrest, Shawarma Guys food truck in South Park, and one of the three locations of Nutmeg Bakery & Cafe.

There is no definitive word on which of his several television shows Guy Fieri was filming for in San Diego, but based upon his restaurant visits and flashy convertible, it is easy to conclue he was taping for a new episode of Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives. Rumor has it, the San Diego visits will be aired in approximately two months.
