Nolita Hall Owner To Open New Restaurant & Bar Concept In San Diego's Coronado

November 15, 2022

The prime Coronado space that last housed the short lived Boardwalk Beach Club has been taken over by Nolita Hall's parent company for the opening of a new bar & restaurant concept set to unveil next year.

Founded by Douglas Hamm, who also developed Lofty Coffee and Half Door Brewing, Creative House is a real estate development and investment company that began its hospitality arm with the spring 2018 opening of Nolita Hall in San Diego's Little Italy. Creative House is also working on several other projects in the area, including a collection of boutique AirBnBs and the incoming Cedar Park bar and restaurant that has been under development in San Diego's Little Italy for several years. Although stalled by the pandemic, the Cedar Park restaurant is still in the works, awaiting permits which should be coming in the next few months pending the city's process.

Creative House has recently took over the 6,500 square-foot unit in Coronado Plaza that previously housed Blue Bridge Hospitality's Boardwalk Beach Club and Maretalia Ristorante (and Vigilucci's) before that. After a substantial remodel, the company plans to launch a new restaurant concept with a full bar in the space, which sits only a block from the Pacific Ocean and only a short distance from the historic Hotel Del Coronado.

Earlier this spring, Creative House also took over the 7,000 square-foot Bankers Hill unit that housed the PR-fueled Il Dandy/Civico By The Park restaurants for a few years before the Italian eatery permanently closed this past January. Creative House's yet-to-be-named Bankers Hill restaurant will open in mid-2023 after the space is renovated.

Creative House's Coronado restaurant is anticipated to open at some point in 2023 at 1300 Orange Avenue, in San Diego's Coronado. For more information, visit creativehouseco.com.
