Gigantic Bi-Level Bar & Restaurant Heading To Little Italy | Cedar Park Is Coming To San Diego In 2018

April 4, 2017

Nope, we're not talking about Born & Raised! In the works since at least 2013, Cedar Park is a nearly 10,000 square-foot indoor/outdoor, bi-level restaurant and bar with a rooftop deck heading into San Diego's Little Italy in 2018.

Owned and operated by San Diego commercial real estate and project development firm Creative House, which owns the Half Door Brewing Co. building, Cedar Park will be a two-story, 9,904 square foot chef-driven restaurant with a bar menu focused on craft beer, cocktails and wine. Due to the ambitiousness of the project, the eatery has been held up by San Diego city bureaucracy since 2013.

"Recognizing that we have the distinct privilige to shape this section of Little Italy with such a landmark project, we are taking every detail into consideration and believe we have found the perfect fit for the neighborhood," explained Creative House in a summary of the Cedar Park project. "The venue will be designed and built in a first class manner but it will be comfortable, approachable and down to earth for the locals and the neighborhood."

Cedar Park is currently undergoing a nearly $5 million extensive and adaptive re-design and development of an existing run down 1950s-era auto repair building to construct its 350-seat bi-level venue. Designed by Little Italy-based Bluemotif Architecture (Crack Shack, Juniper & Ivy, The Nolan, Kettner Exchange), the restaurant will have sidewalk cafe dining areas on both India & Cedar Streets, as well as a full rooftop bar, open air dining area, and a small retail component. The company will also construct a new Piazza Giannini on the southern side of Cedar adjacent to the eatery's front.

Cedar Park will be located at 1565 India Street in San Diego's Little Italy and is anticipated to open in spring 2018. For more information, visit creativehouseco.com/project/cedar-park.
