Global "Edutainment" Chain Museum of Illusions To Open In San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter

January 10, 2023

Global "edutainment" venue and the biggest chain of private museums worldwide, Museum of Illusions will open a 10,000 square-foot location later this year in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter.

Museum of Illusions started in Zagreb, Croatia in 2015 and now has nearly 40 museums open and operating in 25 countries around the world. The company recently leased the longtime Urban Outfitters space in the heart of San Diego's Gaslamp for the opening of the first California location.

Museum of Illusions is set to open its 10,000 square-foot San Diego branch by year's end. The modern museum will offer an array of interactive, immersive and mentally-stimulating exhibits and experiences for people of all ages. Many installations are meant to teach attendees about vision, perception, the human brain and science.

"San Diego is renowned for its rich history, culture, diversity and world-class family attractions, and we could not be more excited to add the truly one-of-a-kind Museum of Illusions experience to this exciting market," said Jonathan Benjamin, CEO of Museum of Illusions. "Each new location we're opening through the continued global expansion of the Museum of Illusions brand stands out as unforgettable in its own unique ways, so I can't wait for people to see what we have in store for San Diego."

Museum of Illusions is anticipated to unveil by late 2023 at 665 Fifth Avenue in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter. For more information, visit museumofillusions.com.
