San Diego's Decades Old Venice Pizza Under New Ownership

February 16, 2023

After being operated by the same family for nearly seven decades, San Diego's Venice Pizza House is now under new ownership.

Venice Pizza House is a classic Italian-American restaurant started in San Diego's City Heights community in 1954 by Italy-born Sam and Prudie LoMedico. Second generation owners Joe & Mar LoMedico and family have been running the Italian eatery over the decades. After a tough few years with the pandemic combined with rising food costs and staffing shortages, the family recently sold the restaurant.

Venice Pizza House is now owned by first time restaurateur Nawfal Hanna who is keeping the red sauce Italian restaurant mostly as-is for the time being. While there may be some aesthetic upgrades taking place in the coming months, the menu and recipes will stay the same.

Venice Pizza House is located at 3333 El Cajon Boulevard in San Diego's City Heights. For more information, visit venicepizzahouse.com.
