Ohio-based Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, which has more than 50 locations around the United States, has set an early June grand opening date for its location in San Diego's North Park.
Founded by Jeni Britton Bauer in Columbus, OH, in 2002, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams uses essential oils to help build bold and unique flavors. Jeni's has more than 50 locations in twelve states and the District of Columbia and currently distributes to over 3,000 groceries and markets around the country, as well as ships products nationwide.
The first San Diego branch of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams opened within The Beacon La Costa retail plaza in Carlsbad last spring. The second area location will grand open on University Avenue in North Park on Monday, June 5, from 7-11pm and will be serving free scoops all night long. Expect the ice cream shops to serve a large variety of flavors including pineapple upside down cake, brown butter almond brittle, cold brew with coconut cream and many more. Based on the success of the first outposts, more locations may open around San Diego in the near future.
