Now open in San Diego's Rancho Peñasquitos area is Kalei's Kitchenette, a Hawaiian fusion restaurant serving Pacific Rim cuisine with Aloha spirit.
Chef Andy Mangiduyos grew up on the island of Maui and along with his wife Khara founded their own catering business in 2018. The husband-and-wife partners recently leased a space within Prado Rancho Penasquitos shopping center for the opening of their first brick-and-mortar restaurant.
Kalei's Kitchenette is a casual, neighborhood-focused restaurant serving a menu of traditional Hawaiian fare like Spam musubi, Huli Huli chicken, a loco moco, Kalua pork, and tuna poke. Kalei's will host its grand opening party on Saturday, June 24 from 10am to 6pm, featuring a live DJ, hula dancers, entertainment, raffles and giveaways.
