From the owners of popular North Park Thai restaurant Soi 30th, Soi PB will soon bring Thai street food to San Diego's Pacific Beach.
After selling their first restaurant - Krua Thai Cuisine in Chula Vista - which was opened in 2013 and sold in 2016, Rikiya & Khwanta Osanai opened Soi 30th in late summer 2017. The North Park eatery quickly became a dining destination due to its unique Thai street food menu that features amped up versions of traditional dishes like curries, soups, salads and noodles, as well as modern fusion items including a Thai beef jerky, garlic calamari, and garlic pepper chicken. The restaurant also offers a large variety of vegetarian & vegan options and craft beers on tap, as well as cans and bottles of local and Thai brews, sake and some wine. In 2020, Soi 30th was replicated with the opening of Soi OB in San Diego's Ocean Beach, followed by Soi RB in Rancho Bernardo in 2021.
Soi PB will open in the 1,100 square-foot space that last housed Coconut Girl Kitchen on Mission Boulevard in Pacific Beach. Like the other locations, Soi PB will be designed with a rustic and industrial decor with colorful custom pop, comic-book-style artwork by local Thai artists & graphic designers. The menu will be nearly exact to the North Park, Ocean Beach, and Rancho Bernardo restaurants.
