Better Buzz Coffee Roasters To Replace Angelo's Burger's In San Diego's North County City Of Oceanside

August 11, 2023

San Diego's beloved Better Buzz Coffee Roasters will open its 17th location later this year, replacing the decade's old Angelo's Burgers in Oceanside.

Founded by then-college students Tim Langdon and Stephanie Garden as a coffee cart in 2002, Better Buzz Coffee Roasters opened its first cafe location at 1909 Garnet Avenue in Pacific Beach in 2007. The company has substantially grown over the past 16 years and now has several locations in Pacific Beach, as well as branches in Point Loma, Mission Beach, Encinitas, Escondido, Coronado, San Marcos, La Jolla, Miramar, Mira Mesa, a hub at Fashion Valley Mall in Mission Valley, its flagship cafe and roastery in Hillcrest, and cafes in Temecula and Menifee, CA.

The newest Better Buzz will replace the central Angelo's Burgers on Coast Highway in Oceanside, which means it will have a drive thru window. Like other area locations, the new Better Buzz will serve a menu of coffee and espresso drinks, including drip coffee and cold brews, as well as a lineup of organic smoothies and an expanded breakfast and lunch food menu with avocado toast, grilled sandwiches, paninis, muffins, cookies, bagels and a variety of acai bowls. Better Buzz food classics include the Turkey Pesto, Bacon Ciabatta, Ham + Cheese Croissant, and Caprese sandwiches, as well as customer favorites like the Best Drink Ever and Mocha Buzz.

Founded in Oceanside in 1978 by Tony Regakis, Angelo's Burgers grew to four locations at its prime. The family-run business shuttered its Encinitas location in early 2021 during the pandemic and that space is now Buona Forchetta hospitality group's Italian-style GP Diner. There will still be two branches of Angelo's Burgers sited in Oceanside after the most central branch closes later this year to make way for Better Buzz.

Better Buzz Coffee Roasters newest location is expected to open by year's end at 1050 South Coast Highway in San Diego's North County city of Oceanside. For more information, visit
