Hotel La Jolla's 11th story restaurant Cusp Dining & Drinks has announced it will shutter later this month to rebrand and reopen this fall as a new dining concept.
"To our beloved patrons of Cusp Dining & Drinks who have shared your special moments, date nights, happy hours, business lunches, and weekend brunches with us over the past seven years, we are excited to announce a new chapter," read the announcement on Hotel La Jolla's social media. "As part of Hotel La Jolla's full-scale renovation currently underway, Cusp will close on August 21 to undergo a transformation into a reimagined concept debuting in November! We encourage you to visit Cusp prior to its closing and in the meantime, the Hotel will remain open, so continue to visit our Hiatus pool lounge for drinks and bites. In summer 2012, Kimpton Hotels unveiled Cusp Dining & Drinks in the space that previously housed Clay's Restaurant on the 11th floor of Hotel La Jolla. The restaurant specialized in coastal Mediterranean fare complimented by jaw-dropping views of La Jolla Shores. Most recently, the restaurant was led by Executive Chef Ingrid Funes Shelton.
Cusp Dining & Drinks will close to the public on Tuesday, August 21. After a substantial $8 million remodel, the restaurant will reopen this November as Sea & Sky. The menu is still in concept development, but expect a devotion to coastal cuisine complemented by frequent live music and jazz brunches on the weekends.
