Mexican Seafood Chain La Corriente Cocina Del Pacifico To Open First U.S. Restaurant In San Diego

A Mexico based seafood chain with several locations south of the border, La Corriente Cocina del Pacifico will soon open its first U.S. restaurant in San Diego. 

Originally launched in 2014 in Tijuana as La Corriente Cevichería + Nais, the upscale mariscos concept now has branches in Mexicali, Monterrey, Mazatlan and Mexico City. Grupo La Correiente recently took over the quaint space on Pearl Street in La Jolla that previously housed Las Morelianas for three years for the opening of the company's first United States restaurant. 

Expected to open in early 2024, La Corriente Cocina del Pacifico will offer an elegant ambiance within its 50-seat restaurant, complimented by a menu featuring an array of Mexican seafood dishes. Dishes will include ceviches, aguachiles, tacos, fried seafood, oysters, and much more, as well as Mexican-inspired Bloody Marys and micheladas. 

La Corriente Cocina del Pacifico is anticipated to open in February 2024 at 456 Pearl Street in the heart of San Diego's La Jolla. For more information, visit
