Lucien Fine Dining Restaurant To Open In San Diego's La Jolla

February 20, 2024

Opening next door to Catania in the heart of San Diego's La Jolla is Lucien, an incoming fine dining restaurant helmed by a former chef of NYC's acclaimed Per Se.

Chef Elijah Arizmendi has been working in the kitchens of restaurants since he was 14, including stints at L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Las Vegas, two-Michelin-starred Restaurant Daniel in New York City, and Thomas Keller's Per Se. It is at NYC's three-Michelin-starred Per Se where Arizmendi met Brian Hung, who he has since partnered with to open Lucien restaurant in the approximately 2,000 square-foot space that last housed Sushi on the Rock atop La Plaza La Jolla on Girard Avenue in La Jolla Village.

Named after Arizmendi's baby son, Lucien will be a 30-seat fine dining restaurant with a menu centered around a frequently-changing, multi-course tasting menu. Expect globally-influenced dishes made with seasonal ingredients and local meats and seafood. There will also be a la carte options available at the restaurant's bar and outdoor patio.

Lucien is expected to open in early 2025 at 7863 Girard Avenue, Suite 308, in San Diego's La Jolla. For more information, visit luciensd.com.
